Kulamba Festival
The Kulamba ceremony and festival is an annual gathering of Chewa speaking people from Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique, paying homage to the Paramount Chief - near his palace at Mkaika - near Katete. It is usually held in August, and is a “must” if you are at SFH at that time. The ceremony showcases Chewa dances - including the “Nyau” - a secretive dance linked to witchcraft. You can find more detailed information here.
